With the parents I talk to, there’s a pretty even split between those whose children will eat Bolognese and those who find it a challenge for various reasons (mixed food, texture of the mince, pieces of onion…).
Those with children who don’t eat it often think it is off menu and stop serving it. When they learn how to serve it family-style and/or find an alternative recipe, it’s usually straight back on the meal plan.
It’s OK if, the first several times, your child only eats plain pasta or pasta and cheese as they become comfortable exploring the meal. You can also help them out by pulling out some meat from the dish and leaving it separate for them to try. Some fruit and vegetables they like on the table will help them to eat well too.
