Recipe of the week: Cavalo nero and mushroom meat-free balls

Kale and mushroom balls

Spaghetti and meatballs but make it veggie.

If mince based dishes like meatballs are a bust in your house, you’re not alone. Often it’s a texture thing.

These veggie meat-free balls have a crisp exterior and are soft inside and so could be just the introduction to this popular dish that your child needs.

Serve the pasta, sauce, meat-free balls and cheese separately so your child can make up their plate as they wish. And, if it’s just plain pasta with cheese or pasta and a dip in the sauce the first time you serve it, don’t worry. It’s great exposure and setting your child up for further progress the next time it is on the menu.
