“Oh, I tried that once a while ago and he didn’t like it.”
“I gave that a go for a few days but it didn’t work.”
Learning to like food takes time. A long time sometimes. So, when offering your child a new food, you need to try not once, not twice, not three times but many, many, many times. Even then, I’d say, never give up!
Likewise, when trying a new approach at mealtimes; whether that’s the way that you serve a meal, a new meal and snack routine, a change to your ‘rules’ or who eats together, it’s going to take time.
Perseverance is crucial in supporting your child to develop a love of foods. There may be resistance at first, but keep going and your efforts will pay off.
