So much of parenting is about picking your battles – which you’re best letting go in order to save your energy for the ones worth fighting.
The mealtime battle is one worth fighting strategically. Not a war of words or a battle of wills but one for which you need to convene in the war room, gather information, coordinate your efforts and plan your defences.
You need to remain strong under attack, never surrender, not display your war wounds, be consistent in your strategies and turn your enemies into your allies.
In other words, work as a team with your fussy eater not against each other, be supportive and encouraging, don’t give up and remain calm.
