P is for Praise

Praise can be a powerful tool in supporting your child to develop their love of food.
Taking a moment to recognise any progress made, no matter how small it seems, to praise your child for that and for you to acknowledge the support you gave them for that to happen, is really important for continued progress and success.
Progress isn’t always about your child eating a food but being open to exploring it. It might be as simple as them asking what it is or what it tastes like, allowing it to be near them on the table, touching it, playing with it, licking it and eventually eating a tiny amount of it.
Praise can come in many forms so choose the ones which your child responds to best; a huge smile, encouraging words, clapping and cheering or maybe even a sticker on a reward chart.
