A recipe calling for breadcrumbs used to make me moan about the effort I was going to have to put in to make it. More often than not, I’d skip past it and add it to the list of things I’d like to make at some point, though unlikely it’d be any time soon. I didn’t, and still don’t, have time to be making breadcrumbs especially for a recipe.
Then I had another problem. A freezer full of crusts and stale bits of bread. No way they were going to waste but also I needed the space.
It was then that I came across a method for making breadcrumbs which could be stored in the cupboard and would last for months. Sounded too good to be true but I gave it a go and have never looked back.
Now there’s always a jar like this in my cupboard and I have breadcrumbs on tap. Such easy access to breadcrumbs that they’re added to all sorts of meals with gay abandon!
