Choice v alternatives for fussy eaters

When it comes to feeding your children and having a stress-free mealtime, how are choice and alternatives important?

Choice is something you can offer them before a meal or snack and is a successful tool in combatting fussy eating. It allows your child some control over what they’re eating whilst you manage what’s on offer.

Offering an alternative to the meal you’ve prepared will show your child that you’ll cave in at mealtimes and give them something that they want to eat. They’ll play on this and will constantly demand something else. You’re likely to become stuck in a vicious cycle of mealtime meltdowns and cooking several meals.
