My week in meals – w/c 24/03/19

This week we tried jackfruit for the first time. I have to admit, I was nervous. I wasn’t sure how to cook it and I didn’t know what to expect, other than I’d read that it had a texture similar to pulled pork. In fact, there were lots of recipes for pulled jackfruit on the internet. Well, there was nothing to dislike about it but also nothing particularly to really like about it. I won’t rush back for it, but I also wouldn’t dismiss it if I saw it again.

Tuesday Working late Pasta Bolognese

Bolognese from the freezer

Wednesday Fish night Gado gado potato salad with salmon



Thursday Veggie night Jerk jackfruit with rice and peas and pineapple salsa



Friday Southern ‘fried’ chicken, potato and sweet potato wedges and slaw
Saturday Family mealtime Pork satay, sticky rice, stir fry veg, raw carrot and cucumber
