Some children barely eat at lunchtimes when they start school and often their eating at home is also impacted.
Hang on in there and don’t let it stress you out. Eating is often affected by changes in a child’s life and it takes a little while for them to settle back down, into the routine and get used to being at school before they feel calm enough to eat well.
Keep offering a variety of foods, be prepared with sustaining snacks to offer them after school, change your routine for a little while to support them to eat little and often, support them to handle their emotions and the stress of the transition and let them know you love them and are proud of them.
