He made an omelette!

Well, technically he has made lots of omelettes now (perfecting his technique) and even made omelettes for my neighbour and her children whilst over there for a childcare swap.

Harvey has been reluctant to be in the kitchen much since his sister came along. She’s in there with me a lot so he doesn’t want to be. He’s also keen to be creative and do his own thing rather than follow instructions from me or a recipe, which leads to short tempers from both of us. But he’s 10 now and I’m keen to get him cooking more regularly to hone his skills.

So, I’ve set him a challenge – to get cooking more often so that he can cook a meal for us all each week, once he turns 11. And he has started by making omelettes at every opportunity!

It’s important to celebrate the successes, no matter how small they may seem. Recognise this progress and more will follow.

Are you celebrating any mealtime wins this week?
