I used to worry about everything; whether my son was eating enough, how on earth he’d survive without all the vitamins and minerals we need, whether he’d be just eating ham sandwiches when he was 18 and (hopefully) leaving home for uni! I also used to worry about what I’d feed him without missing out on the foods my husband and I liked.
But what stressed me out the most was spending time in the kitchen lovingly preparing a meal just for it to be met with a tantrum and outright refusal to eat without even tasting it, and sometimes before he’d even see the meal or heard what we were having. It hurt – feeding our children is a way of showing we love them so it was hard not to take it personally.
This has all changed, and whilst my son now eats really well my daughter is doing her best to test me to my limits at mealtimes, I don’t feel any of this worry or stress any more. We do still have the occasional bad day but most of the time we enjoy exploring and eating a huge range of foods as a family – check out my weekly meal plans to see what we’re all eating and to see that you can eat the foods you love and still happily eat the same meal together.
My How to feed your fussy eater courses are all about sharing with you how you too can overcome all of this, to put the fun back into food and to enjoy mealtimes again. We’ll lay the foundations for healthier, happier, stress-free mealtimes and I’ll support you as your fussy eater learns to eat a wider variety of foods.
If you’re ready to transform your mealtimes from stressful to stress-free, you can work with me 121 at any time or join me for the new term of my small group online course with starts in September. For details and to book a course, head here.
