There is so much more to eating than just the food. Children learn what’s safe to eat, how to eat, how to fuel and nourish their bodies, how to find joy in food, how to behave at the table and how to converse, amongst other things, from us sitting with them at the table.
There are some unexpected benefits too, from enhanced school performance to increased self-esteem and lower use of alcohol, cigarettes and drugs.
