Alexis had put in a request for homemade fish and chips so it was on the menu this week. I don’t normally fry at home but I made a ‘nearly end of term’ exception. The response was a very back-handed compliment – she stormed off saying “These can’t be homemade, they’re not good enough to be mum’s, they taste like the takeaway”!!
