Consistency is key with fussy eaters. With every approach you take, you need to be consistent, over a period of time, in applying it for it to work.
You need to be consistent with the approaches you and your partner take, in how you present food to your children, with the language you use, with offering new foods, with your meal and snack routine, with not offering alternatives and with staying calm at the table. Consistency helps to avoid confusion and anxiety for your children.
Don’t be consistent, though, in worrying about whether your efforts are working on a meal by meal basis. Tackling fussy eating takes time, commitment and perseverance.
