During lockdown, surveys indicated that we were a whole lot more motivated to make the most of the ingredients we could buy and food waste actually reduced. Excellent news!
Unfortunately, with lockdown restrictions easing, food waste is on the rise again. According to a survey by WRAP, food waste has increased by 30% compared to the start of lockdown, though levels are still lower than at this time last year.
What are your experiences? Did lockdown make you think and be more creative with your ingredients? Did the difficulty of getting to the shops or buying ingredients make you want to use as much as possible? Or perhaps, it was just a case of you being home more and now restrictions are easing you’re out more and falling back into bad habits?
