Cooking for and with my children makes me happy. Seeing them joyfully eating, saying that they really like the food or muttering ‘mmm yummy’ under their breath makes me even happier. Food really is love.
Here we are cooking and eating the Dan Dan noodles and the Parathas from the The Children’s Kitchen and Feeding Bristol Healthy Holidays recipe book. Lots of lovely recipes to choose from, which are all available on the Feeding Bristol website complete with instructional videos from each of the community cooks and their children who have contributed to the book.
The Children’s Kitchen, in partnership with Feeding Bristol, 91 ways to build a global city, Square Food Foundation and the Travelling Kitchen, have been providing free cooking classes for families across Bristol throughout the summer holidays, in a campaign aimed at ensuring all children in Bristol have access to affordable and nutritious food and the skills with which to create this food.
Go check out some recipes and share your cooking with The Children’s Kitchen. They would love to see you and your children bringing the cookbook and recipes to life in your own kitchens. What will you cook first? I’ve got my I on Kalpna’s beans next!
