There are some foods which prevent us from sleeping well and others which aid us. Eating a range of sleep-inducing foods throughout the day can be hugely beneficial to getting a better night’s sleep.
This smoothie, a recipe developed in collaboration with All Around Health, is packed with foods which will contribute towards enhancing your sleep.
You can make the smoothie immediately, but I recommend soaking the oats overnight (or at least for a few hours) in the milk for a smoother texture and less raw oat flavour.
Serves 2
Ingredients | Equipment to have ready |
60g oats | Chopping board |
300ml almond milk (or milk of your choice) | Sharp knife |
1 banana, peeled and cut into thin rings | Blender or smoothie maker |
1 kiwi, peeled and cubed | Measuring jug |
130g raspberries (I use frozen) | Small mixing bowl |
2 tbsp cherry active (optional) |
Method
- Start by putting the oats and milk in a small mixing bowl, stirring, covering and leaving overnight in the fridge.
- When you’re ready to make the smoothie, put all the ingredients in a blender or smoothie maker and blitz until smooth.
