Cook book review: Ching’s Chinese Food in Minutes

Dan Dan noodles

Wok cooking is ideal for quick and easy weeknight meals the whole family can get on board with.

After some chopping and prepping (which can be done in advance), in the words of Ching, it’s “Wok on, oil in”. It’s all very quick from there.

I have several of Ching-He Huang’s books and they’re all well splattered, but my favourite is Chinese Food in Minutes. It is full of colourful, fresh, healthy dishes which can be on the table very quickly. Wok cooking is fast and fun and the food is so wonderfully tasty.

As well as the recipes, there are suggested menus, a glossary of ingredients, a list of store cupboard items to stock up on as well as plenty of useful tips for building your confidence with wok cooking.

I highly recommend putting a Ching cookbook on your Christmas list.
