Preparing for isolation: Tip #3

Support your local businesses. Whilst the supermarket shelves have been raided by panic buyers, many small local businesses are still well stocked. Don’t tell anyone, but my local green grocer has got pasta and tinned tomatoes!!

They’re going to be fighting for survival so, whilst you’re likely to have more time at home than you would have previously, go check out your local butcher, fish monger, green grocer etc.

In the last week or so, businesses have also started adapting to the situation, offering deliveries or drive through collections of veg boxes, milk, eggs, make at home kits and the like. Keep an eye in local Facebook groups for what’s on offer in your area.
Some suppliers to the restaurant trade have fresh produce and stock they want to sell so take a look at companies like Arthur David who are now looking to sell direct to the public.
